Letters From a Stoic is free to read, and I want to be upfront about how it pays for itself.
Effective October 15, 2026.
Amazon affiliate links
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Some book links on this site, including the “Keep Seneca With You” boxes on the letters, the Resources page and the essays, are Amazon affiliate links. If you buy through one, Amazon pays me a small commission. It costs you nothing extra, and it helps keep the translations free.
How I choose what to recommend
I only recommend books I think are genuinely worth your time: the best editions of Seneca and the other Stoics, and a few modern books that put Stoicism into practice. No publisher pays to be listed, and an affiliate link never decides what I recommend.
Emails
The daily letter and Sunday essay emails don’t contain affiliate links.
My own work
If I ever recommend something I made myself, such as a book collecting these letters, I’ll say so clearly.
